Corren Vask

Human, Duelist's second (unlicensed)

Fast talker, name-drops duelists he's never met, voice cracks when pressed on details.

The Borrowed Blade. Corren needs someone to retrieve the practice sword he left at the real crime scene before the watch matches it to the wound.

Second Chance. He wants to challenge a real duelist to prove himself, but needs a second who won't rat him out when he inevitably loses.

Appearance

Rope-thin, patched leather jerkin two sizes too big, a practice sword he polishes obsessively. Nicks on his knuckles from missed parries.

He didn't land the fatal blow in the duel he's famous for — his patron did, and framed it as Corren's win.

Taps the hilt of his sword three times before speaking

Practices bows in reflective surfaces

Bravado masking panic

Fiercely loyal to the wrong people

Reputation is the only coin that matters when you have none.

He's covering for the noble's son who actually killed the rival duelist.

Cannot admit fault even when it would save him.
